{about me}

Welcome to my blog! My name is Leah Bockelman. I am a wife, daughter, sister, friend and mother! I am a lover of traveling, camping, the ocean, animals, s’mores and swedish fish…oh and of course photography, but we’ll get to that in a bit. 😉

How did I end up in Nebraska?

In the summer of 2006, I met my husband, Scott, at my cousin’s wedding in Omaha. It was truly, in my eyes, love at first sight. I called him “The Red Tie Guy” until he finally asked me to dance, and it was then that I learned his name. Being from Minnesota, we kept in touch over the years and realized that what we had was something very special. After having a long-distance relationship from Minnesota to Omaha for 2 years, we decided that it was finally time to bridge the distance. In the spring of 2008, I made a leap and moved to Omaha and couldn’t be happier! Scott balances me in so many ways and is such a supporter of me following my love for photography.

Photography has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been capturing my adventures of travel, family, love and just life in general. It’s amazing to look back now at some of those moments and have the incredible feeling of reliving them all over again. Now, capturing those moments in other people’s lives, the ones that forever change you in some way either large or small, has become the focus in my work today. I feel blessed with each new person I have met and have thoroughly enjoyed telling the story of some of their most intimate moments in life through photographs.  I am excited to see where this journey takes me as I continue to explore my passion for life and photography.
