kim & jim {engaged} Beaver Lake — NE
Kim and Jim knew of each other back in high school, but didn’t actually start dating until almost a decade later when they found each other on match.com. I was excited when Kim asked me to photograph their engagement and wedding, and even more excited when she said she wanted to do the engagement photos down at Beaver Lake. Beaver Lake is a place where we’ve spent many summer days, and, it’s even more special to the bride-to-be as she grew up going there since family members live on it. She decided to scout out some places she liked and knocked right on the owner’s doors to ask if we could take pictures on their property! I give her much credit as she picked out some fun and beautiful spots. I may end up sneaking back there on occasion to take future pictures… 😉 These two are such a sweet couple and I am already looking forward to their wedding next spring!
jenny + paul {married} nebraska
I traveled out to Norfolk, NE just this last weekend to capture Jenny & Paul’s wedding day! Norfolk is Jenny’s hometown, so it was very meaningful to be getting married there. Although I sensed a little nervousness when I first saw Jenny that day (it turns out a stomach bug was making it’s way around the wedding party) the overall day turned out absolutely beautiful, and Jenny and Paul seemed so happy. From the ceremony, the party rode on a trolly and made their way (slowly) through the town to a park. I found it quite entertaining while following behind as I have never heard so many car horns, motorcycle revs, semi honks, cheers, and even high fives from fellow trolly passerbyers. I was tempted to try and take some photos of it all (while driving), but decided to stay on the safe side. 😉 The wedding party was an absolute blast and I had fun capturing some fun moments at the park. Jenny and Paul both looked amazing and together make a beautiful couple. I was so happy to be a part of their big day!

One day this last Spring, I took my daughter for a walk in our neighborhood park. Walking up to the playground, I noticed the only 2 other people there — what looked like a mom chasing around her very energetic little boy! We started chatting and I found out that she and her family had just moved up here from Texas. Since that day, we’ve had a few play dates and our kids are so cute together! It’s fun to watch them interact, and I think they have their own little language. 🙂 I was so happy when Lindsay asked me to take some photos of her family. Although their son, Max, didn’t give us a whole lot of smiles the day of, he is absolutely adorable! Those big blue eyes are going to get him in trouble with the ladies some day. 😉 I really enjoyed hanging out and taking photos of the Coulter family and hope to continue getting to know them as it turns out they only live a few blocks away! caitlin & adam {married} nebraska
I love outdoor weddings! Of course I love all weddings, but, there is something about outdoor ones that makes it more intimate feeling. I have been fortunate enough to have done a handful thus far, and each one is simply lovely. Of course you chance mother nature and potential rain, but even if that happens, there is always a backup. My goal is to someday do a mountain wedding — overlooking rows and rows of them. Anybody? Anybody? 😉
I really enjoyed Caitlin and Adam’s engagement photos, so I was super excited when their big day finally arrived! Their wedding, which took place at A View in Fontenelle Hills, overlooked a beautiful golf course and never-ending shades of green. We did get a few drops of rain in the early afternoon hours, but nothing that stopped us from enjoying the day. I mentioned before about how Caitlin’s eyes pop, and once again, wow! Not only hers, but all of her bridesmaids! I had an absolute blast with the whole wedding party, and was happy that they were willing participants in a few different and fun types of shots. There was so much laughter and poking fun at each other, it was obvious that they are a tight-knit group. Not only was there lots of laughter, but also a few moments of tears, that of which got me a little teary-eyed too! Caitlin and Adam are such a sweet couple — one that I can tell will last forever. audrey & evan {newborn}
Audrey and Evan’s original birth date would have been tomorrow. Instead, they decided to arrive a whole 2 months early on March 30! It wasn’t long ago that I met their parents, Bridget and Brian, at Bridget’s sister’s wedding that I shot. Bridget was a beautiful soon-to-be momma who was a trooper the whole time, even though she was to be on bed rest. Little did she know she’d be expecting their little one’s arrival one week later! Both babies are now home and healthy, and their parents couldn’t be more proud. They are little sweetie pies and did amazing during their shoot. Though they were sleepy most of the time, we’d occasionally have them completely opposite where one was wide awake and the other passed out. A bit of a challenge, but still adorable. I can already tell that Bridget and Brian are going to be amazing parents, and I am so happy that they had me capture this special time of their lives!

Vienna is ONE, and, she is one HAPPY baby! I loved her huge smiles and squeals of delight. She was awesome the entire shoot. I even got to try something that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile — cake smash, then right into an outdoor bubbly tub! It was so fun to watch her destroy the cake and even more fun capturing the soapy mess. My husband says that there is still a brown cake stain in our lawn today — and this took place last weekend. 😉 Completely worth capturing those moments. Such an adorable family ~ I’ve had fun capturing Vienna’s first year!
jillian & mark {married} nebraksa
I am so happy that our friends, Jillian and Mark’s, big day finally arrived! They knew each other years before they even started dated, and then dated for some time before Mark popped the question. Even though we always kinda counted them as one of the “married” couples in the group, we’d always tease Mark about when he’d ask Jillian — and “10 years” was for some reason the response. 😉 When he finally did ask her though, her answer was of course YES. We were all thrilled to hear the news, and I was really excited when they asked me to capture their special day! Taking place at Bella Terre Vineyard in Glenwood, IA, it was an absolutely beautiful wedding. A gorgeous location, stunning bride and handsome groom, a few tears and lots of laughter brought this day together. Even though I put on my professional face when shooting a wedding, it was fun watching friends go through the motions of becoming one, as well as hang out with other friends and family. It was especially cute when I’d capture Mark just looking at his new wife — completely in awe. Such a sweet couple – I ❤ them. 🙂

mary & kyle {married}
I met the Rice family back in 2011 when we had a shoot with their son, Miles, who was just 3 months old! Since then, we have done various family shoots as well as Mary & Kyle’s engagement session, and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one. They are such a sweet family and I am so happy that I have gotten to know them a little more over the years! Their wedding was equally enjoyable with much laughter and happy tears. Mary looked gorgeous and Kyle and Miles adorable in their matching suits. One of my personal favorite moments was seeing little Miles join them for their first dance. Though they have always been a family, this day just symbolized them becoming one and emphasized the love they share. I am so happy that they had me be a part of it all. Congrats to the whole family! I love it when I hear from past wedding clients requesting another photo shoot, as it most likely means that they are expecting! Jessica and Reed, who’s wedding seems like just yesterday, had their first baby boy on April 23! A handsome little man named Elijah. I had the pleasure of photographing this little sweetie when he was about 2 weeks old, and he was determined to stay awake almost the entire time! 😉 We captured some sweet moments and even had him model a cute knitted hat from his grandma as well as Husker gear (his entire family are huge fans — so he really had no choice at birth but to become one too). 😉 Here’s a sneak peek at our little shoot! samantha & shem {engaged}
When I met Samantha and Shem at one of my most recent weddings, I knew immediately that we’d have a fun engagement session which was already planned for a few months later. They again, are one of those couples whom upon meeting them, you feel like you’ve known forever as they have such an easygoing personality. They are an adorable couple and both have amazing eyes that I couldn’t help but focus in on. We were able to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather (before the crazy snow storm that hit a few days later). I am very excited for this couple’s wedding coming up in October!!
robin & eric {married} omaha, nebraska
Robin and Eric’s day was full of beauty, laughter and crazy fun! I’m not sure how many people “warned” me that I was in for a ride… a fun ride of course. Everyone that was a part of the day was definitely ready to have a good time. 😉 We started the day at St. John Vianney Church, and what a beautiful place it was. Both the ceremony and reception were conveniently in the same building, but in between I was informed that a bus was going to drive the party around. When I heard “bus”, I pictured the black school (party) bus that I’ve seen before, but nope, it was a giant coach bus! A little more luxurious. 😉 We enjoyed the beautiful day outside prior to heading back to dance the night away. I was so happy to be a part of it all. Congrats to Robin & Eric ~ a beautiful couple!
cole william {newborn}
It feels like just yesterday that I took pictures of our friend’s first born (shown here), and now, they welcomed baby Cole into the family on April 11, 2013. Both came out with a full head of hair — it is TOO cute!! Jen and Brad are definitely very natural at parenthood, but it is seen even more so with their second, they are pros now. Although they adore their little lady and all things that come with girls (PINK!), they were thrilled for a boy as they can dress him in camouflage that isn’t pink, and Brad now has a hunting buddy. 😉 Emily is especially excited to be a big sister — she [might] just share her favorite pink tea set with Cole eventually. For now, there are plenty of kisses that she loves to give. What a beautiful family they are — so excited to watch our kids grow up together!

I didn’t know you could love somebody so quickly until one year ago when we welcomed our precious little girl into the world. How fast the time has gone!! Happy first birthday to our beautiful little lady. She has brought so much joy into our lives already. Can’t wait to watch her grow and experience life with her! So many wonderful things to look forward to. 🙂
micah {newborn}
I may be biased, but gosh I have an adorable niece and nephew. It feels like just yesterday that I captured little Emma as a newborn (shown here), and now recently, we made a trip up to Wisconsin to meet the newest little member of my sister’s family! Micah Munro was born on March 25. What a little sweetie pie. He was such a good baby — barely cried the whole time we were there. Granted, my sister and her hubby may have another opinion with night wakings and such, but he seems to bring so much joy to them –which always makes up for the lack of sleep. 😉 We are predicting that he is going to be an amazing swimmer (maybe even the next Michael Phelps) as he was born with his long and third toe being webbed — on both feet! The pictures don’t show it very well, but in person it is too cute. Can’t wait to see this handsome little man grow up! Just wished we all lived closer!
charlie {newborn}
Charlie is now 3 weeks old! This little man decided to stay awake the whole time, with exception of maybe a 3 minute nap. He was so alert and just seemed to take in everything that was going on around him. Of course his momma told me that after I left he crashed hard — it is so much work to be a model! 😉 His hair is so stinkin’ cute the way it stands up. I’ve been told that it is naturally like that — he came into the world with styled hair. So fun. Here’s a peek at his adorableness.

You would never know that this girl mentioned she was nervous for the shoot — she was such a natural! Seriously, I think she should be a model. Her glowing soon-to-be mother look is just beautiful and completely encompasses what motherhood is all about — a slight look of the unknown, yet, pure happiness all in one. She and her husband are expecting triplets! Two boys and a girl. What an amazing experience it will be. I can tell that there will be plenty of love to go around to all of them. I know I mentioned this in their engagement session post, but I’d like to reiterate that even though I only met Kelly & Paulie a few times before their big day, they are one of those couples that you feel like you’ve known forever. The same held true when I met all of their family and friends for the first time that day. Such a fun and welcoming group. It was the beginning of Spring, but ended up being a cold and blustery “winter” day. Despite the lack of beautiful weather, their wedding was nothing short of beautiful. From Kelly’s gorgeous dress with the blue underskirt to the amazing church that the family grew up going to. From their first look to the general glances they’d give one another throughout the day — not even blowing, slushy snowflakes got in the way of how happy they were. Here’s a sneak peek at how the day unfolded…I’m so glad to have been a part of it all!

We are so excited that some of our best friends have moved into our neighborhood! Not only did they just build a beautiful new house, they are now expecting baby #2! With just a few weeks before his/her arrival (I think it’s a boy!;), I once again captured this special time in their lives. It’s fun to look back at the last maternity session we did (shown here) — both still look amazing, and, Jen is still a glowing “new” mommy. Plus, now they have their beautiful little girl to share this experience with. We can’t wait to meet the new little one and watch our kids grow up together. 🙂
koesters {family}
I have already given my daughter permission to marry either of the Koesters boys. Seriously, they are sooo stinkin’ cute, and, not to mention little gentlemen! 😉 I adore the whole family and am always happy when they get in touch for another shoot. Hayden is now 3 and Hudson almost one — the perfect age combo for two brothers. They seem to have so much fun together — Hayden is already teaching Hudson the ropes. Plus, they are keeping their parents plenty busy. Despite the weather being a bit chilly, we had a fun time shooting at their house and in their backyard. Here’s a peek from the day!
linden {18 months}
Sometimes it takes a little while for kids to warm up to the camera, the strange lady behind the camera and a new environment, but, once they do, there is so much excitement and they don’t want the session to end! 😉 That was the case with my latest shoot with sweet little Linden. I absolutely love children’s serious looks too though, so even if they don’t give me the biggest smiles, the photos turn out just as lovely… I know the parents want the smiley ones though, so fingers crossed for some of those as well. It always helps to have their favorite toys readily at hand, and hers was Elmo — he decided to steal the spotlight for a few shots while trying to get her attention. 😉 Linden was an absolute delight to take photos of and I had such a fun time getting to know this cute family!

Seems like just yesterday I got the call that little Lindsey was born and was ready for her newborn session! One year later, she is still as sweet as can be and already looks so grown up. I think I mention this every time that I see her, but her eyes and lashes are amazing! So much personality from this little lady, and I can tell that her parents absolutely adore her. Apparently, her new favorite game is to play timber — where she just falls straight over onto pillows, blankets, her dog!, and in this instance, her parents shown in the very last shots. Such a cutie.

mary + kyle {engaged}
When Mary and Kyle walked out of the elevators at the Hilton in downtown Omaha, they looked amazing in their black and white outfits. Mary was stunning, and Kyle, handsome (Bond-like) as I’ve seen some people comment. As we walked through the hotel lobby, many people shouted out “congratulations” as I think they thought it was their wedding day! We didn’t correct them, because hey, why not enjoy having all eyes on you during this special time as you express the love you share with one another. I’ve had so much fun capturing these two (along with their adorable son, Miles) in previous sessions, and this time was equally as fun. I had a hint of what their wedding day is going to be like — and I can’t wait!
Congratulations to Mary and Kyle on your engagement as well as many other new happenings your their life lately. Here’s to opening a new chapter — enjoy every moment. 😉

I am always happy when the Peterson’s get in touch for a shoot. We’ve known them for quite awhile now, and each time, I say how sweet of a family they are! **We really do need to get together more often Taryn and CJ. 😉
This time, we captured some indoor shots since it was so cold outside. As always, there was spunk, playfulness and lots of love with this family. The girls were looking as adorable as ever and are growing up way too fast. I know I always seem to say that with children, but when you photograph them, you really do see the difference from session to session. It was cute to see their reaction when they even got to open up a present — Dora the Explora (am I saying that right? — maybe it’s just Explorer 😉 — I should probably get used to this stuff having a girl now. Ha.

vienna {6 months}
Beautiful miss Vienna has sure grown since I saw her last during her newborn session! She is now just over 6 months old and was looking as adorable as ever in her glamorous little outfits. And look at those gorgeous big blue eyes! Wow.
The whole family came over for yet another fun shoot. It’s cute to see the difference in personalities of the two siblings already. Vienna is just so chill, and Kyren still has the energy I remember him having during the first shoot. I’m sure it won’t be long before Vienna catches up to her brother’s curious ways. 😉 I’m excited to see Vienna and the family again for her 1 year photos!
