natalie ann {newborn}
We are so happy to welcome Natalie Ann into our family! She has been absolutely precious thus far and we feel so blessed. Born on April 19, 2012, she came into this world weighing 8 lbs exactly and 21.25″. We can’t wait to watch her as she grows into a little lady. She seems to already be changing day by day! Here’s a peek at some of her first few days.
hudson frederick {newborn}
I must say, Emily and Tony sure make adorable babies! I’ve had so much fun capturing the sweetness of their first, Hayden, shown here and here . And now, with the newest addition to their family, Hudson, all I can say is how CUTE are they!? Hayden was all smiles and although only a little over 2 years old, he seemed incredibly proud to be a big brother and was so gentle around Hudson. As mentioned before, Emily and Tony, you now have TWO little gentlemen that are going to be grabbing all the ladies’ attention! 😉
Congratulations!!
leo & parker {1 year}
It’s still March and it feels like it’s been summer in Omaha for quite awhile. Last weekend was another beautiful one, and I was happy to spend some of it in the park with Leo & Parker. Having just celebrated their 1 year, we captured just a few more moments in a casual environment, one that usually makes Parker smile nonstop… says mom. 😉 While we got a few smirks in the very beginning, the heat took over and I think they both just wanted a nap. Even still, adorable family as always. I have a feeling they are going to get a lot of use out of the red wagon…the boys love it!
{1st birthday party}
Today Leo and Parker turn 1! They sure have come a long way since they were born… see newborn photos here and here . Last weekend was a fun-filled celebration with family and friends. When it came to cake smash time, neither one of them seemed to be too thrilled with the sugary frosting. Their facial expressions were priceless. Both boys seem so happy and are each developing their own little personalities. And, check out the hair! Love it. 😉 Happy Birthday Leo and Parker!!!
jack {18 months}
I recently had my 6th session with Jack, and wow has he grown! I think his hair keeps getting more and more curly every time I see him.. too cute! Although he had his ups and downs during this session, his happy and sad faces are equally adorable. And, I am realizing that more and more kids tend to be easily entertained by electronics, specifically telephones. That kept him busy for awhile, and I think they often think that someone is really on the other end of the line! Oh, how I miss make-believe days sometimes… 😉 As mentioned before, I’ve really enjoyed seeing Jack throughout his first years and getting to know his parents, Amanda and Owen. I am anticipating the day I hear that Jack will be a big brother….. no pressure guys. 😉 Here’s a sneak peek from Jack’s 18 month session!
miles {7 months}
This little man will make your heart melt. At 7 months old now, I was excited to see Miles again at his second shoot with me. Here is his first session at just 3 months old.
He is still adorable as ever with those AMAZING blue eyes! Not only is he still happy as can be, he’s developing even more of a bubbly little personality. Unlike last time, he now knows how to use his crawling abilities…. right towards the camera. 😉 He will probably be walking in no time! Thank you Mary and Kyle for coming to my place for a fun family shoot. I’ll be sad to see you move to CA, but hoping to sneak in at least one more shoot prior to your departure. 🙂
leila {1st birthday}
Leila’s 1st birthday is one to remember… even though she won’t be able to remember, hopefully these photos, amongst others, will allow her to see how much love was put into the planning of her 1st year celebration! I keep telling Jamee, Leila’s mom, that she needs to start a side business planning events. The details were just amazing and very thought out — from the invitation all the way down to the cake that Leila (kinda) dug into… she was very dainty and lady-like in the way she approached her cake smash. 🙂 Leila was looking adorable as always and couldn’t be more happy to be surrounded by family and friends. Thank you Jamee and Dusty for having me capture this special time in your lives! Before you know it she’ll be walking, talking (more) and growing up too fast! 😉
dane {1st birthday}
So much can change in a year. Especially if that year is from the time you were born to when you turn one. I first met Arica, Ryan and their son, Dane, when he was just a newborn, and boy has he grown since then! He now makes the cutest faces, including a need to stick out his tongue when a camera is present. His hair is much more full (and wild:), he has a ton of energy which recently led to crawling, and he’s got a huge appetite — since he ate almost his whole birthday cake! I had a lot of fun celebrating his first birthday and seeing him surrounded by friends and family. Arica and Ryan, you’ve got one handsome little man, and I thank you for having me capture this special time in your life!
leila jade {11 months}
Leila just keeps getting more precious every time I see her. And now, she’s developing her own little personality which is absolutely adorable! She is also on a roll with her crawling capabilities, so our shoots are getting a little more complex, as, one minute I’ll be taking photos of her crawling towards me, the next, she is sitting on my lap! 😉 I won’t complain though. It doesn’t hurt to fit in a little snuggle time with your subjects. And how about that owl hat? TOO CUTE! She is all set for her 1st birthday party coming up this month, and I can’t wait to celebrate it with everyone!
genna & dave {engaged}
I first met Genna back in 2009 after my cousin sent me her way when looking for a hair salon for our wedding. Genna works at The Grove and did an amazing job with my hair, as well as others within our party. She was so sweet and easy to talk to, that I ended up going back to her consistently for haircuts and such over the years. I would always bug her asking her if she had a ring yet, and to my surprise, one day she said yes! Not only that, she wanted me to be her wedding photographer! I was so excited for them, and for the opportunity to be a part of their big day. She and Dave are a stunning couple and I couldn’t be more happy with the way their engagement session turned out. I’m having such a hard time editing down the photos from this session because they all turned out so beautiful in their own way! Their adorableness, our surroundings and lighting all added up to a beautiful session that I hope they can cherish forever. 🙂 I’m very much looking forward to their big day!
rowley {family}
I’m finding it amazing to have taken family photos in the middle of January and have it feel like a beautiful Fall day! Besides being a little windy, it was a great day to be outside. I enjoyed capturing some photos of our good friends, as they were really up for anything, including charging a huge group of geese…which were everywhere! Again.. in JANUARY? A great looking family and beautiful lighting made it an overall fun shoot!
lindsey {newborn}
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby… well, you know. 🙂 I recently captured one of my first wedding couple’s newborn baby girl, Lindsey. It was a joy to have gotten to know them during their engagement session, and then to capture their wedding day, and now, seeing them in this new chapter of their lives brings a smile to my face. Lindsey is an absolute sweetie and was not afraid to get her snooze on during our session. 😉 Joyce and Jeff seem like natural parents already, and I hope they enjoy every moment with their new little one. I can’t wait to capture her throughout her first year!
Emily {6 months}
About 6 months ago, Emily Toland came into this world, beautiful as ever. It has been so much fun capturing the milestones of her life, starting with just before she was born. You can see the other sessions here:
Emily is growing up to be a classy little lady, just like her momma. 😉 The outfits just keep getting more adorable too. And how about those blue eyes? Precious. I am so excited for her 1 year photos, as I can only imagine the cuteness that will be involved!
Leo & Parker {9 months}
Last time, Leo and Parker weren’t too thrilled with their Halloween costume shoot, and although this time I didn’t get a lot of smiles, I sure got a whole lot of personality and overall cuteness. It has been so much fun watching these little guys grow up, and I can’t wait to take their 1 year photos in a few months!
second shooting {wedding}
This last summer, I had the chance to second shoot a wedding again with my friend, Julie Branyan, here in Omaha. It was a lovely day filled with lots of love between the adorable couple, Stephanie and Matt. My favorite part was when we took the golf carts out and stopped at a place just as the sun was setting. Stephanie and Matt practiced their first dance moves, and it was so cute! We got a preview, and they had a chance to warm up. 😉 Here are just a few shots from the day.
Ava {3 months}
Awhile back, I photographed Kara and Daren when they were expecting their first child. –>

Time sure flies, as little Ava is now 3 months old, and I was so happy to finally meet her! What a cutie she is. Of course Kara came prepared with all kinds of cute clothing and accessories. One piece in particular was a little white hairpiece that I clearly remember since I shot details of it at Kara’s sister, Kim’s wedding. It was a fun idea to use it again, and it complimented Ava’s outfit beautifully. She was wonderful during her shoot, cried only once and even propped her head up, which is a work in progress for her. What a joy little girls bring to this world. I can now relate since we just found out we are having our first girl as well! You can’t deny the beauty they emit in photographs. Maybe I’m being a little biased now…. 😉
Thank you for coming to our home for the shoot Kara, Sandi and Ava! Enjoy every moment with your little one.
schmidt {family}
This week, I had a fun-filled shoot with the Schmidt family. It was a highly energetic time with much laughter. The kids are adorable and are excited to be welcoming their baby sister or brother (which they find out today!)Â into the world come April! Janet is actually due just days before I am, and we recently discovered that we even share the same doctor! It’s a small world. I am very excited for them and hope to possibly see them back again once baby is born!
Caleb {2 years}
Despite his interest in everything else BUT the camera and not wanting to get his photo taken, I think some pretty cute images were captured of my little nephew, Caleb. He is just shy of turning 2, and it’s been so fun to watch him grow and develop new skills… including already being interested in computers. I’m pretty sure he is going to follow the Bockelman way and become a computer nerd of some sort. Nothing to complain about there though, we love having them around. 😉 Happy Birthday, Caleb! You’re becoming a handsome little man.
Miles {3 months}
I really can’t get over how adorable this little guy is with his big blue eyes! He was just too much fun in person, and editing his photos makes me smile all over again because he has so much personality. I am also a sucker for cute baby clothes/props, and Miles definitely sported all of his outfits very well.
Thank you so much for coming over Mary! I had a great time getting to know you and your son and look forward to possibly seeing the whole family again soon for some more fun photos! 🙂
anna & bart {engaged}
I recently had yet another wonderful engagement session on a beautiful fall day. Anna and Bart met at church and couldn’t be a cuter couple. I loved their outfit choices which showed both their classy and playful sides. I really didn’t have to say much to get these two to laugh, as Bart’s goofiness did just that. There was non-stop playfulness, which is particularity shown in the last few photos where Anna is a pro at making a fish face, but Bart may need a little more practice. 😉 I can tell that these two are going to have a lifetime of happiness and love together.
Laura & Matthew {engaged}
A few weeks ago, Laura, Matthew and I had a fun-filled engagement session on what couldn’t have been a more beautiful fall day. The leaves were starting to finally hit their peak colors, and although a little chilly and windy, Laura and Matthew looked so cute cuddled up together. One of my favorites parts was when they walked through a pack of geese. The geese were definitely not afraid of people, or they were just that hungry. We parted ways as soon as one of them started to nibble on Matthew. 😉 I had a great time getting to know this couple and look forward to their wedding next summer in Minnesota!
slobotski boys {6 months}
I’m so glad to see these boys good and healthy now. Awhile back, I photographed them just after they were born– a whole 2 months early. Only weighing around 2 lbs at that time, they now weigh a healthy amount and are as strong as can be. They have so much personality, and their facial expressions are priceless! They were pretty happy and content, right up until the end when their Halloween costumes were revealed. Although adorable to us, they wanted nothing to do with those costumes and I think wanted to just sleep at that point. 🙂 I look forward to capturing them again when they turn one!
trevden {1 year}
So much changes from the time a child is born until they are 1 year old. One of the most obvious is the amount of energy they have and the ability to be mobile. This little guy, Trevden, wanted nothing to do with sitting, and everything to do with running around and experiencing the world around him. Sometimes it is best to just let kids do what they do best and play, and then capture those moments. I’ve enjoyed capturing Trevden throughout his first year and watch him turn into an adorable little man!

Karen & Dave {engaged}
I met Karen and Dave a few weeks ago for an engagement session. I keep referring to this couple as being so in love, and I think you’ll see from these photos exactly what I mean. The way that they look at each other is just so genuine, it’s undeniable that they carry that spark. There is more behind their story that perhaps allows them to feel more open and blessed with where they are in life. About a year and a half ago, Dave was given a diagnosis that would completely turn their world upside down. He was told that he had Amyloidosis, an incurable disease that destroyed his heart and kidneys and holds an average life expectancy of only 1 year past diagnosis. Dave received a new heart and kidneys and was then told he only then had days to live. After having a bone marrow transplant to stop the new heart and kidneys from being destroyed, he is now proud to say that 1 year later, his heart and kidneys are functioning normally and there is no rejection to the organs. He feels blessed to have a second chance at life.
Their story still gives me goosebumps, as it really allows you to appreciate the ones your with, as well as the life you’re given. I feel honored to have gotten to know them and to have captured their love.
