extended family // 2019
When the temperature approaches 100 degrees and you have an outdoor family of 23 shoot planned, I am so thankful for the alternative location they had available. Although we managed to step outside on the deck for a bit, the interior worked just as well with all the lovely brick! Their outfits popped especially well against the backdrop. They were all so sweet, so patient, and I can tell that they all probably have a great time with their big gatherings. So happy that they chose me to capture this time of their lives! Here’s a peek!

Meet Blaise. Class of 2020 high school senior, soon-to-be graduate! When I told my littles that I was going to photograph him, I’m pretty sure they thought I was going to shoot (Blaze), their favorite monster machine. 🤣 I kinda think his name is pretty cool. When his mom came to me about having another session, I was looking forward to it, as I enjoyed photographing their other son a few years back. Blaise, too, was another natural model, with a wonderful personality. Aside from the first few clicks of not always knowing what to do in front of the camera, he fell into in pretty quickly and needed little guidance.
Blaise, I really enjoyed spending time with you and your mom during your session! Hope you have a wonderful senior year! Here’s a peek at some of my favorite shots. 🙂

I love when my commute to work is literally a minute. 😉 I took photos at this sweet family’s home, which happens to be in my neighborhood! They just welcomed their 2nd, a precious girl named Hailey. At just 4 days, she was a perfect little snoozin’ machine, who barely flinched even when big brother made some noise. 😉 It has been a joy getting to know this family a little better, and I’m so happy for them as they start this new adventure as a family of 4! Loved meeting with this sweet family last week for a little family shoot. Their boys are ALL boys and were most content digging in the dirt/looking for bugs and riding their bikes & scooters. So, why not capture those moments, too? 😉 They have a wonderful balance of sweet and silly, and it was so fun capturing all their personalities.

A few years ago, I photographed Lexi’s big sister, Gabbi, and I had such a wonderful time as she was such a natural in front of the camera. Lexi was also a natural beauty and so comfortable in front of the camera! I am sure they have to be doing some practice modeling on the side… 😉 I may have had her change back into her blue jumper for our field shots as it complemented her so well! We started off in downtown Elkhorn, ventured out to an open field and found some gorgeous, wispy long grass, then ended in my neighbor’s beautiful backyard. I enjoy senior sessions the more and more that I do! So thankful they chose me to capture this time in her life. Best wishes to all that you set out to do in life, Lexi!

I first photographed Mandy and Mike during their engagement session almost a decade ago now (one of my first engagement sessions ever)! Since then, we became instant friends and it’s been so fun watching their family grow throughout the years. I always remember them saying that they wanted 4 kids, so I am beyond happy for them as they dive into this new adventure as a family of 6! Colette was adorable during her shoot, and I always enjoy doing more lifestyle sessions in people’s homes. Especially when there is an abundance of natural light! Baby snuggles are the best! Sweet Archer mostly wanted to stay awake during his session, but being almost a month old, he is so curious about the world around him! He most definitely was being watched over by his brother from up above, and I love that his birth mark looks like a little angel kiss. It is shoots like these that truly remind me how precious life is, and I feel so blessed to be able to capture the stories of so many family’s lives. Here’s a peek!

It’s been so fun watching Delaynie and Easton grow over the last few years! They are both like living little dolls — absolutely precious, and now, they’re looking forward to being a big brother and sister!! So excited for this family and their new adventure which awaits. I started this shoot with an unexpected assistant! Little Marian is so cute with her camera and can come help me anytime. 😉 She is also a great big sis to Lydia, who is now 6 months! Who wants to go out in our most recent snowfall for a shoot!? I really am loving ending my most recent shoots this way. 😉 Little Rydlee is turning 2, and Ryker, 5. Both little cuties with completely opposite personalities. Though Rydlee was not loving the outdoors with her chattering little lips, she showcased her beautiful strawberry-blonde hair with a few warm ones inside at first, all with the help of Hei Hei, my squeaky assistant. I always have a hard time narrowing down photos after a shoot with this family –they are all like little models and my camera just loves them! And their personalities are equally as adorable. Ending the session in the snow was perfect, though, I don’t think Kenny would agree. Before I knew it, he darted to the nice warm heated car after I took a quick family photo — not realizing I still wanted him in a shot. I waved him back out and ended it with a nice, chilly farewell. 😉 Here’s a peek!

There’s something so magical about being outside just after it snows and you are surrounded by pure white. I’m so happy this sweet family was okay with moving their shoot up a day so that after we captured a few indoors, we moved it outside to the magical little world. With an older sibling and younger twins, I can totally relate to them. Though, their girls are a little older and actually like to sit still for photos. 😉 They were all like little models — it was adorable. Here’s a peek!

Even though it wasn’t the warmest, we lucked out with it being decent enough to shoot outside considering it was mid-December! I love when I meet families for the first time, and it feels like I’ve known them forever. The Osborn’s are one of those families. I enjoyed our time together, soaking up the sun and (warmish) fall day before it got too dark and chilly. Each kiddos has so much personality, and little Olivia is turning one, so we made sure to capture a few of this special time in her life. Here’s a peek!

When two families come together for a session with a total of 5 kids, you’ve got a shoot full of energy and just plain fun. I’ve mentioned before how different it is photographing older kids as they actually sit still (vs littles who run away!) and that was the case for all of these little models — except we of course had to do some crazy/wrestling/jumping shots. 😉 I enjoyed photographing both families along with one of their grandma’s on a gorgeous fall evening. This outdoor shoot brought me back to the fall engagement session with Anna and Bart, which seems like such a long time ago! So much has happened in their lives since then, including bringing two cuties into the world. It was fun watching them interact with one another, and at one point, dance to the Baby Shark song. Love seeing this family ~they are all so photogenic! I knew Owen when he was just a baby (our kiddos had several playdates together), and he has grown up to be such a handsome young boy — a perfect blend of both of his parents. We bundled up into the cold morning hours at OPPD park and captured some beautiful shots the day before a snowstorm hit! Here’s a peek!

Maybe it’s just because my “babies” are getting so big now, but when little Lydia came in for her first photos at just 6 days, she looked so incredibly tiny! Such a petite little sweetie who, for the most part, loved to snooze throughout her shoot. Joined by her big sister and parents, she seemed quite content and made sure to give me the approval at the end with the cutest little smirk. Here’s a peek!
